It works great for woodrats

Been battling the woodrats, who like to try to build nests in my engine compartment. This trap has been great at capturing them. Had to play around with the bait a bit and landed on shelled sunflower seeds. Works best when I place some in the cup and sprinkle more on the tip plate and surrounding area. Caught two last night and four this week. The kids like to take a peek. They also like that I drop off the woodrats safe and sound in the woods… on the other side of the freeway. Coyotes gotta eat too, ya know. Trap is sturdy, well made, easy to put together. Safe. Easy to use, but gotta be a little crafty in bait selection and trap placement. I like that it’s American made. Strong recommend.

I have mixed feelings about the trap

I have mixed feelings about the trap. It does catch small critters. I got six chipmunks in just a couple days. Having said that, I wish there were a way to see inside the bucket to know if anything was caught without having to remove the trap from the bucket. My other and biggest complaint, I bought this to be used as a humane trap. One night it rained, the bucket filled with water and I found a chipmunk suffering the next morning that was just about dead.
In conclusion the trap does work well in catching small animals I only wish there were a small window in the top to see inside and it also be rain proof. In the future I'll be sure to place it under cover.

It works wonders! I have been catching huge rodents and it just works as long as you follow the setup properly!

It Works!!!!

I received the trap a week ago and have already trapped two rats! I’m so pleased this trap actually works! My only complaint is that it would be helpful to have some instructions for how to get the rat out of the bucket—assuming you trap humanely. The trap is a bit top heavy and the lid will come off if it falls over. Packing tape fixed the issue, but maybe another pin or two to attach the top?
