Been battling the woodrats, who like to try to build nests in my engine compartment. This trap has been great at capturing them. Had to play around with the bait a bit and landed on shelled sunflower seeds. Works best when I place some in the cup and sprinkle more on the tip plate and surrounding area. Caught two last night and four this week. The kids like to take a peek. They also like that I drop off the woodrats safe and sound in the woods… on the other side of the freeway. Coyotes gotta eat too, ya know. Trap is sturdy, well made, easy to put together. Safe. Easy to use, but gotta be a little crafty in bait selection and trap placement. I like that it’s American made. Strong recommend.
Trap is well built. Unfortunately, no rats have been caught. Two birds decided to steal the sunflower seed bait and became the first victims of our new trap. Removed sunflower seeds and using only peanut
butter.
Simple and effective trap.
This is the most effective trap I have tried. I have an early-generation flip trap, but this one has proven to be much more functional. The design and construction of this trap are far superior and I like the fact that there are no metal parts that can rust like standard snap traps. Another keen design feature is the pin to put the trap in "training mode" to make rats see the trap as a food source. I have been catching 2-3 rats each night and even caught 3 ground squirrels in the first week which I did not expect. Finally, the hood seems to keep birds out, so there is no risk of catching them on accident, and the coyotes and possums cannot run off with this trap like they do with snap traps. Overall a superior product.
Materials and quality are to notch, everything i had hoped for. Everything functions flawlessly. The design is very well worked out and executed. Now i need to put it to use and see if in practice it proves the theory. Hopefully this will eradicate the current day rat problem.
